Mieriale fell to her knees, her arms still tied behind her back, and looked up at the two creatures. “Oh, praise Ciaran. He sent the Twilight Twins to rescue me!”

The two minions shook their heads. “You have failed Ciaran for the last time,” said one of them with a masculine voice.

“Yes, we have come to put an end to your failures,” said the other with a feminine voice.

Each slowly removed a translucent red sword from the scabbards tied around their waists. The swords appeared to be made out of the same unknown red material used by Zekours. They raised their swords into the air above Mieriale’s head.

Mieriale trembled. “Wasn’t I a loyal servant?”

The twins snarled and said as one, “Ciaran has condemned you.” And then, they plunged their swords into Mieriale. She collapsed on the ground. Her head tilted to the side. She stared into my eyes as life left her. But just before she met her final end, she whispered, “Tell Swagger ... I’m sorry.” And then she died. But, her body did not disappear because of the effects of the putrid potion she had imbibed so many years ago.

The Twilight Twins turned around and glared at me. “Ciaran sends a message,” said the male twin. “He has been impressed by your ability to survive and looks forward to taking your life himself.”

I tightened my grip on my amberite pickaxe.

The female twin laughed. “You think you can defeat the Twilight Twins?”

“I know I can,” I said, taunting them.

The Twins laughed. “Not today you won’t. Good-bye.” And with that, Ciaran’s two minions disappeared.

“Aargh! Lame,” I said, stomping my foot.

“How many minions does Ciaran have?!? It’s like a never ending supply,” said Claire.

Emma shook her head. “I don’t know but … oh, Mieriale’s final words! How horrible! Jimmy, will you tell Swagger?”

I nodded. “Of course I will. I owe him that.”

“Where to now?” said Tina. “How do we get back home?”

I turned to the destroyer endermen. “Can you get us to the beta dimension Overworld?”

The destroyer endermen looked confused and then shook their heads. Coolbeanio responded. “We cannot teleport others between the realms. We’ve tried before. I wanted to bring a cow to the End to show my wife and children what they looked like, but I couldn’t do it.”

“That was just a cow. Try it with us. Maybe it is different with villagers?” said Claire.

Coolbeanio shrugged and he put his hand on my shoulder. I watched as he disappeared but I remained. A few moments later he returned. “I was just in the beta dimension Overworld. I told you I could not bring you with me.”

I stomped on the ground. “Wait? Why didn’t I think of this before?” I reached into my inventory and pulled out the Rainbow Creeper figurines. “Easy peasy. I’ll just call RC.” I focused my energy on the Rainbow Creeper and my desire to return to the Dretsky Estate. But nothing happened. I looked at Claire and Emma. “The figurines aren’t working.”

“Maybe the Creeper’s busy doing something else?” said Emma.
